Archery Hunter Safety

Maine Archery Hunter Safety Education course: Online. Courses vary in presentation and teaching style as well as student work requirements outside of the classroom. Courses are taught by trained, certified volunteer instructors according to statewide standards. Courses cover the following topics: laws, safety, equipment, first-aid and survival, map and compass, ethics, and landowner relations.

Students must demonstrate to the instructor that they can safely handle a bow, participate in activities, bring in a survival kit with appropriate contents and pass a 50 question test with a grade of at least 70%.

The Online Course requires that students complete the knowledge portion of the course online and attend a skills and exam day which is about 7 hours. Students complete quizzes and exam as they do the online course and are provided with a voucher to attend the skills and exam day upon completion of the online exam. In the skills and exam session students must demonstrate to the instructor that they can safe knowledge of handling a bow, participate in activities, bring in a survival kit with appropriate contents and pass a 50 question test with a grade of at least 70%.

Students must complete the online course and provide voucher number to register for the Skills and Exam Day. Students must also bring the voucher to the first class. Please visit bowhunter-ed.com/maine/ to complete the online portion of the course.

This Class is Scheduled at Jackman American Legion, 433 main Street, Jackman Maine on Friday Night August 7, 2020 from 5:30pm-9pm  and Saturday Afternoon August 8, 2020 1pm-5pm.  All  classes must be attend completely  and have a voucher from online and a survival kit.   Please bring pen and pencil to class along with the $10.00 per student for first class; if you are taking the Firearms course as well the charge is $15.00 for both.
