The Home Study Course consists of about 9 hours of classroom instruction broken up into a 3 hour introduction followed by either 2 nights or one day of classroom and activities. Students are required to complete a workbook or chapter reviews from an internet course both of which complement the student manual. Students must demonstrate to the instructor that they can safely handle a bow, participate in activities, bring in a survival kit with appropriate contents and pass a 50 question test with a grade of at least 70%.

This class is part of a Combination course; We are teaching the common general topics for both Firearms and Archery the first two evenings and then breaks out into the topics for each discipline and testing.  8/18/2020 and 8/20/2020 with be the common topics; 8/27/2020 class will be the final night for BOW (Archery) Hunter Safety.  Hands on Skills and written test will be given.  To complete the BOW Hunter Safety course and receive the certification for your license you must attend and completed assigned work for the BOW Hunter Safety class.  A Survival Kit is required.

A $10.00 (ten) fee for the Sponsor will be collected the first night.  Please bring a pen, pencil, and a notebook for notes.

No Firearms/Archery are to be brought to any of the classes. All classes start at 5:30pm – 9pm.  Anyone under 16 y/o must have an Adult over 21 y/o with them.

The class will be held at the Ivring Tanning Community Center, 62 Elm St., Hartland, Maine 04943.  Classroom will be assigned.
